New for 2006, the Volkswagen Summer Festival, at Uttoxeter Racecourse, Staffordshire. The show is organised and run by the most dedicated team of VW enthusiasts in the UK, who over many years have learned just what it takes to create the perfect combination of activities for a highly successful weekend show. The Volkswagen Summer Festival benefits from this wealth of experience, with elements to entertain the whole family. Trade Stands from the best in the UK, the very best free Autojumble pitches for private sellers, Inter Club Games, excellent vehicle displays and two days of Show and Shine/Concours events. As well as the superb venue, VW Club Areas, Childrens Marquee and climbing frames, there is the added facility of an excellent on site Pub, as well as a bar located in the massive Betting Hall, which is home to the overnight disco entertainment. The excellent feature of the covered betting hall, (against for example an outdoor marquee,) is that if you want to party, its loud inside, but if you donít, you can chill out or sleep in peace on the huge campsite.
The venue features excellent camping facilities, (with vehicle 'hook up' by arrangement) up to 10,000 square feet of covered space, and can accommodate many thousands of visitors, who can get in and out of the venue with ease. Although the show is new to the calendar, the venue was home to the hugely successful VW Action 30th Birthday party event in 2005. Safe in the knowledge that several thousand visitors in 2005 were full of praise for the venue, we know you will love the Volkswagen Summer Festival. New in name, but with an impeccable pedigree, this will become the best show in the UK for all real VW enthusiasts. The major Magazines, Traders, and Clubs will be supporting this event from day one. Be there at the start. Arrive on Friday, there is no extra charge for camping.
TICKETS
The all inclusive weekend ticket price of £25 entitles you to stay
on site from Friday through to Sunday evening, no hidden extras. Weekend
tickets sold on Saturday are also £25. (The Saturday sampler price
of £10 is for a daytime visit, leaving the venue before 6pm Saturday
and Saturday till midnight is £15.) Sunday is £10 all day.
Advance tickets are NOT available. All tickets to be purchased on the
gate.
GETTING THERE
Uttoxeter is a very easily accessible location, with excellent road links
from most parts of the UK. London can be reached in 2-3 hrs. Birmingham
is 1 hr away, and Manchester 1.5 hrs. Newcastle is around 1.5 hrs.

You will need to pre book your club plot, but you will not need to pay
in advance. Please be as accurate as you can with regard to vehicle

AUTOJUMBLE
This is a free facility for private sellers. Our perception of 'private'
also extends to the stock offered. If you have 'trade quantities' of
new items, you will pay for a trade stand, or cease selling. On the
other hand, if you have the contents of your garage, or private collection
of parts on display, you may trade all weekend for absolutely no charge.
(Other than your weekend ticket.)
CLUB GAMES
Saturday
Bug Push
As is customary teams of 5 are required to sign up during the weekend.
We will be blagging donor vehicles for the Bug Push once again. OWNERS
get to STEER for each team! Find the Club Games/Events Area for 2.00pm
on Saturday. The Bug Push follows the ‘Penalty Shootout’ so
why not enter both? Trophy and much respec’ for the winners.
Penalty Shootout
The organised chaos of the Penalty Shootout contest is fast becoming
a legend on a par with John Daniel interviewing the ‘Miss Stonor
Park’ contestants. OK maybe it’s not quite that good yet,
but we’re getting there. You need to get together a team of five
members, and decide on a team name. Sign up at the Information Office,
and now the important bit. Please, please, please turn up on time (2.00pm
Saturday) in the centre of the Events Arena.
Trophy for winning team will be awarded during the trophy presentations (3.30pm Saturday).
Spacehopper Racing
Over the years there have been some proper antics from the hopper brigade
once again You are more than welcome to put up a team for this deceptively
exhausting diversion. You won’t get us on one of those things
ever again. You have our word on that.
Obstacle Course
Again team work and effort will be rewarded with Action Trophies. One
of last year’s top ‘comedy’ moments with much 'gusset'
on display.
Pie Eating Competition (Sunday)

IMPORT . Who's got the
biggest mouth? (Fingy?) Or the biggest belly? No using hands just face
down onto the table. Top comedy moment - guaranteed! 12.30pm on Sunday.
CHILDRENS' VWORLD
We’ve got kids. We know what it’s like.
So just for you we have FREE activities for children in VW Action’s ‘Childrens'
VWorld Marquee’. This is NOT a creche - YOU are responsible for
your children but... We have laid on a colouring competition... A video
show... and some other stuff!!
Just find the Childrens’ VWorld area (near the Food Court/Bar,
check programme map for details) and set them to play and be sure to
check out The Poi Circus . . .
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT
Friday nights early birds will be treated to a Pub Quiz followed by music
in the Centrefield Pub/Bar.
Saturday sees the return to Uttoxeter of the King of Disco, the entertainers' entertainer . . . the one and only Jensen D Groover. You know that JDG is the gold standard for cheesy disco, and a night spent with the legend is a night not easily forgotten! (Allegedly). The Centrefield Pub/Bar offers an alternative with 'Acoustic Rock' from VW Favourites FREAK-1-C.
SHOW AND SHINE/CONCOURS
Saturday daytime will see the Everyday Vehicle Show and Shine, Which
is intended to host a display of our visitors' (i.e. your) pride and
joy, regularly used road cars. It is not a show for the trophy traps,
they will have their day on Sunday, during the VW Summer Festival Concours
and Custom Concours. There is no charge to enter the Summer Festival's
Concours or Everyday Vehicle Show and Shine events - it is fun and
a damn good place to park!
DISPLAY VEHICLES
We are looking for any interesting display vehicles, prepared to stay
in our special display area during daylight hours Sat/Sun. If your
vehicle has an interesting history, is unique or special in some way,
